About the Author |
Dan Berkley, M.Eng., P.Eng. is a Canadian professional engineer who made a passion for bridge in the late 1960's. Besides practicing his profession, Dan made time over the years to run bridge clubs, organize bridge competitions, play and teach bridge online and offline.
He is an ACBL Accredited Bridge Teacher and an Accredited "Learn Bridge in A Day?" Instructor, teaching Standard American "5-card major" and his simplified and modernized version of Blue Club.
The "Bridge - The Beginner's Guide" book came into being from a set of lessons he prepared for his daughter. Thus, the book is written in a simple, straight-to-the-point, easy-to-learn style. It is addressed to anyone who wants to learn bridge or polish their game quickly and easily.
The "Simpler Blue Club System" (which he named it Mississauga Style) is also written in the same clear, straight-to-the-point style. It tries to revive the interest in one of the most successful bridge bidding systems of all times. At the same time, it makes it simpler, flexible and closer to the current trends in bridge.
